Victoria aims to create a warm, safe, empathic, non-judgemental and confidential environment where individuals feel comfortable being able to express any issues of concern and to express emotions, no matter how intense. She works in a pluralistic way which means collaborating with you regarding your expectations of therapy, what outcome you would like from therapy, how you would like to work, for instance in a directive or non-directive way, would you like to be given relfective tasks to do between sessions.
Victoria likes to work with individuals agreeing a way forward together, working at your pace, being supported by her, but never telling y0u what to do. The aim is to help you gain more clarity on your issues, perhaps a different perspective, maybe more acceptance, a sense of calm, feeling more confident, having a sese of direction, purpose or meaning. Victoria aims to encourage, empower and support clients so that they may understand their experience, have an outlet for emotions, regain a sense of balance, embody change, look ahead, make informed choices, and facilitate independence leadinng to living the life they want.
As an Integrative Counsellor, Victoria can use different models of counselling to support you. This is helpful as one size does not fit all.
Victoria also offers different ways of working in counselling such as:- psychoeducation, visualisations, diagrams, reframing questions, journaling, free writing, art work, object relational exercises (buttons, shells, crystals, feathers, stones, sandtray work and more).
Offering different ways of working ensures that you can be supported for a variety of emotional wellbeing issues.
